Editorial

We were tasked with creating a prototype for an editorial magazine. While the topic was of our choosing, the design had to follow specific layout and production guidelines.
Instead of focusing purely on aesthetic freedom, the goal was to balance creativity with function—producing a publication that is not only visually engaging but also practical, readable, and structured for real-world use.

What is Torque?

Torque is a magazine concept that explores grassroots and underground car culture from around the world, with a focus on the people, machines, and communities that shape it. The publication aims to blend lifestyle, storytelling, and design, offering readers an inside look at how car culture exists beyond the mainstream—raw, authentic, and built from passion.

This issue of Torque spotlights Nightride, a Poland-based automotive collective known for their cinematic videos, DIY drift builds, and strong community presence. At the heart of the feature is Kevin, their now-iconic custom van, which went from a forgotten utility vehicle to an internet-famous drift machine. Through editorial storytelling, a feature article, gift guide, and interview, this issue dives into Nightride’s creative process, cultural influence, and what it truly means to build and belong in the car world.
